Well the similarities in the films of both Macbeth was that they both had a lot of blood anger and violence. Also both of the settings of these films were very dark and sinister also in a way it was a tad bit scary. Oh and also we never saw Lady Macbeth die but it's okay I guess.
But the differences between the two films was that the first film we saw it was more Shakespearean and more kind of old school and the second version we saw was more modern and a bit more bloody and gory. That's what I saw in these two films.
But in the end I didn't like any of the films because the first one bored me a bit and I got kind of lost. But in the second film I understood it more but I didn't like the scene were the little kid got shot.

Yes, we didn't get to see her death scene happen, but we did know that in both of the movies she did commit suicide after their discovery.

ReplyDeleteIt was pretty extreme but Macduffs kids death scene was crucial in showing how far macbeth would go to win over the kingdom. The scene didnt bother me so much ... not to sound crazy or anything like that.
ReplyDeleteYou describes both similarities and differences really well. It seems you understand the movie good.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the point about the scenes being extremely violent but the purpose they served was to make you see what Macbeth had become. He went from hero, to king, and finally a murderer. The bloodiness of the scenes depict how far Macbeth was willing to go and how messed up he was in the head.
ReplyDeleteGood point, Jaime. The meaningless killing of Macduff's son shows the fast-moving downward spiral of Macbeth, demonstrating his tyranny and perhaps even foreshadowing his own death.
